KenART is holding a purely 35mm Photography Exhibtion this month (July) on the 30th!! The exhibition will be held @ The Reading Rooms in Dundee and begins at 9:30pm. The night promises to be an amazing event with nine photographers and live music! Bands include Midas Fall, White Heath, Ashley Christie Band, The Manikees, The Electrolites and Dj’s J Shep and Kit Fisto! Only £5 on the door! Come Along!

I am an art worker with Pure Media UK. I have been involved as an artist with KenART since December 2007 creating artwork for the exhibitions. I mostly enjoy sculpting, painting, pottery and photography. The artist who most inspires me is Hundertwasser (1928- 2000). His love for nature and the individuality of each person is reflected in his organic architecture, paintings and other artwork.

‘Escape’ Mixed Media, I wanted it to look a bit subtle and odd as though i were coming out of the board, its certainly odd anyway. It’s called ‘Escape’.

KenARTs  photography exhibition was held downstairs in Braes, Perth Road on the 15th of May. This exhibition concentrated solely on photography. Different  types of photography was  included; 35mm, digital and even camera phone images. The exhibition involved fifteen artists from differing levels of experience, producing images which were collated into an art installation.

The exhibition was accompanied by live music from Laura May Gibson, Ashley Christie, Fourteen Miles From Home and Midas Fall.

The Construction Exhibtion held in the workshop on the 27th of February encompassed all mediums, including painting, film, collage, photography and sculpture. The exhibtion covered issues such as man over nature, the building of families and relationships, even the construction of a film.

Artists involved included; Steven Cormack who created a film, photography by Zen Elements, painting by Kristina Dearsley, Dawn Polley, Carrie Findlay and Gazz King, and poetry by Barry Grieg. The whole evening was accompanied by music from Edinburgh band Midas Fall.
